paper was the primary design medium for this exhibition space for antalis, an internationally-recognised paper specialist. inspired by the versatility of paper and how it can form different shapes, textures and lines, different ways to interpret the use of paper as a design element were tried out, resulting in a design concept that transpired from the shape of a crumpled ball of paper.
from here, paper elements were handcrafted into creative installations and props for the exhibition. the installation was a challenge in itself as the paper elements could only be crafted on-site and in actual scale. the final product was organically put together to fit the context, materials and space available on-site. to complement the installation, plinths were also designed to showcase the works of designers and artists who created a collection of unique art pieces out of paper.
